Less expensive value-added products are more appealing and accepted by today’s consumers. Producing Barnyard millet puff with a hot air puffing system offers users numerous advantages, as a continuous hot air puffing system typically has greater capacity, enhanced safety, and simpler operation. In this research, optimally puffed barnyard millet (puffed at 310 °C with a feed rate of 7500 g/h) was stored under accelerated storage conditions. Storage of puff Barnyard Millet grain in Metalized polyester (MP) and High-density polyethylene (HDPE) indicates that MP is superior for storing puff grain compared to HDPE. Storage research indicated that at extremely high humidity (95%) and temperature (40 °C), the hot air puffed barnyard millet retained its shelf life for only 21 days in HDPE and for 52 days in MP, respectively.
