The present investigation was carried out during 2024-25 at the Laboratory of Fruit Science, K.D. College of Horticulture and Research Station, Jagdalpur, Bastar (C.G.), to evaluate the physical and chemical characteristics of aonla (Emblica officinalis Gaertn) fruits. The mean values for physical attributes were recorded as: fruit weight 33.57 g, vertical diameter 3.42 cm, horizontal diameter 4.97 cm, fruit volume 30.65 cc, seed weight 2.24 g and juice content 25.51%. The results of chemical analysis revealed total soluble solids (TSS) 9.78 ºBrix, pH 2.08, titratable acidity 1.95%, ascorbic acid 515.81 mg/100 g, total sugars 31.51%, reducing sugars 9.84% and non-reducing sugars 21.67%. Aonla, commonly incorporated in beverages, is recognized for its rich nutritional profile and bioactive properties, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and therapeutic effects, emphasizing its importance as a functional, health-promoting food ingredient.
