Abstract:

The present investigation entitled “Soil fertility assessment and nutrient indexing of PDKV adopted Nachanbhatti model village in Chandrapur district," was conducted during the year 2024-25, to assess the soil fertility status in Nachanbhatti village of Chandrapur district. A total ninety-five (95) surface soil samples were collected in Nachanbhatti village using GPS. Each sampling location was accurately marked using GPS technology. The collected soil samples were analysed for various fertility parameters. All the soil samples under study were slightly acidic to slightly alkaline in reaction and soils were free from soluble salt hazard with low to moderate in organic carbon status and slightly to moderately calcareous. The soils of Nachanbhatti village were found low to medium in nitrogen and medium to high in phosphorus, medium to very high in potassium and medium to moderately high in sulphur. Nutrient Index Values (NIV) of soils under study were found low for nitrogen and moderate for phosphorus, high for potassium and moderately high for sulphur. The Nachanbhatti village soils were low to medium in zinc and iron, moderately high in manganese and very high in copper with Nutrient Index Values as low for zinc and moderate for iron, moderately high for manganese and very high for copper.
