Incidence of long bone fractures in dogs

Abstract:
The present study was conducted on clinical cases of dogs presented to the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, Veterinary College, Hassan during twelve months period (June 2024 to May 2025). The higher incidence of long bone fractures was noted in femur (41.54%) followed by tibia and fibula (28.47%). Young (0-6 months), male and non-descript dogs had higher incidence of long bone fractures. Mid-diaphyseal transverse fractures were more common. Automobile accident was the most common cause for long bone fractures.
