Socio-economic status of goat farmers in Sirohi Tehsil of Sirohi district, Rajasthan

Abstract:

The study involved 80 respondents from Sirohi tehsil of Sirohi district, selected from four randomly chosen villages. The findings revealed that the majority of goat owners fell into the middle age category (58.75%), were illiterate (47.50%), lived in medium-sized families (50.00%), resided in joint families (57.50%), and were small landholders (52.50%). In terms of flock size, most goat owners (60.00%) had medium-sized flocks, and a significant number (56.25%) earned a medium income from goat rearing.
