Socio economic status of farmers enrolled in Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna in Satna and Rewa district (M.P.)

The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojna (PMFBY) is a flagship agricultural insurance scheme introduced by the Government of India to provide financial support to farmers in case of crop failure due to natural calamities, pests, or diseases. The present study was conducted in Satna and Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh state, with an objective to Know the Socio Economic status of Farmers enrolled in Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojna. This socio economic study on farmers enrolled in Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojna in Satna and Rewa district (M.P.) Through field surveys and interviews with farmers across diverse regions, the study investigates various socio-economic aspects, including farmers' income stability, access to credit, and their overall risk management strategies. Total twelve village selected in which each village were selected on the basis of simple random sampling to comprise a sample of 360 respondents for study. By examining factors such as the affordability of premiums, timely claim settlement, and the extent of government support, the study provides insights into the effectiveness of the scheme in improving the socio-economic conditions of farmers.
