Abstract:

The experimentation was conducted to investigate the haematological profile of Marwari does to analyze the physiological alteration under the influence of different lactation stages. Twenty non-pregnant goats served as control, while sixty lactating goats were screened to study the effect. The lactating goats were classified into three subgroups and blood sample was collected according to that. Sub-group I was from 0-25 days, sub-group II was from 26-50 days and sub-group III was from 51-75 days post kidding. Haemoglobin (Hb) and Packed cell volume (PCV) were significantly highest (p≤0.05) in the Sub-group II (26-50 days) stage of milk production. Overall, the result of the present experimentation showed the change in haematological parameters which indicates that the animals were in the stage of oxidative stress and there was an increased requirement of oxygen transport during its peak lactation.
