Abstract:

The feasibility study of tractor operated broad bed furrow planter was carried out at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kawardha during 2022. The planter was developed by department of Farm Power and Machinery, Indira Ghandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur. The planter was tested in field of soybean and chickpea. The planter was used for preparing broad bed furrows and simultaneously sowing of seeds on beds. The Result was found in BBF planter for soybean that, the highest seed yield (9.75 q/ha), net return (13750 Rs/ha) and B-C ratio (1:1.88/ha) was found under BBF treatment (T2) and lowest seed yield, net return and B-C ratio was found under farmer practices traditional method (T1) i.e. 7.50 q/ha, 7200 Rs./ha and 1:1.47/ha, respectively. In case of chickpea the highest seed yield (18.10 q/ha), net return (51000 Rs/ha) and B-C ratio (1:3.5/ha) was found under BBF treatment (T2) and lowest seed yield, net return and B-C ratio was found under farmer practices traditional method (T1) i.e. 15.30 q/ha, 40820 Rs./ha and 1:3.0/ha, respectively.
