Abstract:

The current experiment was carried out to investigate existing buffalo calves' feeding practices and the use of non-leguminous and leguminous straw-based total mixed ration supplemented with fibrolytic enzymes in growing Murrah buffalo calves. Blood samples of buffalo calves were collected quarterly and separated for serum to estimate haemato-biochemical parameters. Haemoglobin levels were determined by collecting blood samples every four months. There was a significant difference (p<0.05) in packed cell volume, red blood cell counts, and total leucocyte counts. In biochemical constituents (blood glucose, serum albumin and serum globulin) were not significantly different but total serum protein was statistically different.
