This research work was designed to find out the effect on growth performance by supplementing ashwagandha and spirulina @1mg/kid/day to Bidri goat kids. Eighteen Bidri goats of more than one month of age were taken from farm and randomly grouped and feeding trials done for three months. Kids were divided in three groups that is group I (control group), group II (Spirulina treated) and group III (Ashwagandha treated). Growth performance parameters such as body weight, body height, body length and chest girth were calculated on 0th,15th,30th, 45th, 60th,75th and 90th day and results showed significant increase in above growth parameters when results compared to control group animals. The findings and interpretation of present study suggested that, spirulina and ashwagandha have similar effect on all the parameters measured. However, from economic point of view cheaper and easily available diet can be recommended for addition in kids diet.
