Abstract:

An investigation was undertaken at research farm, College of Agriculture, Gwalior (M.P.) to study the screening of pea varieties against aphid (Aphis craccivora Koch) under field condition. Eighteen varieties were sown for this study, and aphid incidence levels varied significantly throughout two consecutive years (Rabi 2022-23 and 2023-24). The results indicated that the incidence of aphids was present in all the varieties. Among the eighteen varieties, four were categorized as less susceptible, ten as moderately susceptible and four as highly susceptible against aphid. The variety Pant pea-243 had the lowest aphid population which was at par with Paras. Whereas, the highest aphid population was found in variety CH-10 which was found significantly higher than rest of the varieties except Noori.
