Abstract:

The present investigation entitled “Effect of foliar spray of plant growth regulators on growth and yield attributes of cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis L.)” was conducted during Rabi season 2023-24 at the Center of Excellence on Protected Cultivation and Precision Farming, IGKV, Raipur (C.G.). The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) replicated thrice and the experiment comprising of ten treatments viz. T0: control, T1: GA3 @ 50 ppm, T2: GA3 @ 100 ppm, T3: GA3 @ 150 ppm, T4: NAA @ 80 ppm, T5: NAA @ 100 ppm, T6: NAA @ 120 ppm, T7: IBA @ 5 ppm, T8: IBA @ 10 ppm and T9: IBA
@ 15 ppm. The foliar spray of plant growth regulators was done at 30, 45 and 60 days after transplanting of cauliflower. The result showed that the application of GA3 @ 150 ppm gave maximum plant height (59.93 cm), width of leaves (22.41 cm), stem diameter (3.95 cm) and stem length (15.72 cm). Among the yield and yield attributes such as the longest curd diameter
cm), highest curd weight (389.27 g), total biomass production per plant (818.47 g), curd yield per plot (8.56 kg plot-1) and curd yield per hectare (285.46 q ha-1) were recorded under treatment GA3 @ 150 ppm. The control treatment recorded lowest value for growth and yield parameters.
