Abstract:

A field experiment was conducted during two consecutive years of 2022 and 2023 at Agronomy Instructional Farm, Department of Agronomy, Chimanbhai Patel College of Agriculture, Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar to study the effect of PROM, sulphur and iron on nutrient content and uptake by groundnut. There were twenty-seven treatment combinations comprising each of three levels of PROM (i.e., 125, 250 and 375 kg PROM/ha), sulphur (i.e., 12.5, 25.0 and 37.5 kg sulphur/ha) and iron (i.e., 2.0, 4.0 and 6.0 kg iron/ha) were tested in a randomized block design with factorial concept and replicated three times. The pooled results indicated that an application of higher levels of PROM @375 kg/ha (P3) and sulphur @37.5 kg/ha (S3) recorded significantly higher N, P and S content as well as uptake of N, P, S, Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu by kernel, shell and haulm of kharif groundnut as compared to its lower levels. Whereas, looking at different levels of iron, an application of 6.0 kg iron/ha (Fe3) gave significantly higher N content in haulm and Fe content in kernel, shell and haulm, as well as uptake of N, P, S, Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu by kernel and haulm of kharif groundnut over 2.0 kg iron/ha (Fe1), was observed.
