Combined effect of organic manures and bio-fertilizers on vegetative growth and yield of strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.) cv. Winter Dawn

The present investigation was conducted at the experimental unit, Department of Horticulture, Tilak Dhari Post Graduate College, Jaunpur during October 2022 to February 2023 to study Combined effect of organic manures and bio-fertilizers on vegetative growth and yield of strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.) cv. Winter Dawn. Healthy runners of strawberry with 2 to 4 leaves were planted during last week of October with spacing of 50 × 50 cm. The investigation was laid out according to Randomized Block Design having 11 treatments which replicated thrice. Results revealed that the incorporation of organic manures and bio-fertilizers aided in getting considerable vegetative growth viz. plant height, spread of plant and number of leaves plant-1 till the completion of crop cycle i.e. 120 days. Results associated with the investigation revealed that, with the collaboration of Vermicompost + Azotobacter + VAM maximum height of plant (26.76 cm), spread of plant (38.78 cm) and leaves plant-1 (41.62) was attained at last stage of growth followed by plant height (24.48 cm), plant spread (33.26 cm) and leaves plant-1 (34.87) with combined application of (FYM + Azotobacter + VAM) and minimum was in control. Analyzed data indicate that maximum length of leaves (14.50 cm), width of leaves (10.37 cm) and leaf area (35.88 cm2) were noted with combined application of Vermicompost + Azotobacter + VAM also the maximum runners plant-1 and crown plant-1 i.e. 7.74 and 8.53 respectively was found with Vermicompost + Azotobacter + VAM. Maximum fruit yield plant-1 (376.02 g), fruit yield plot-1 (6.01 kg) and fruit yield ha-1 (150.25 q) was recorded with association of FYM + Vermicompost + Neem cake + Poultry manure + Azotobacter + VAM. The value of aforesaid attributes was recorded minimum under controlled condition (Untreated plot).
