Response of different amounts of nitrogen and organic sources of nutrients on growth parameters and yield of potato

A research study titled “Response of different amounts of nitrogen and organic sources of nutrients on growth parameters and yield of potato”. Research Farm, Department of Horticulture, MGCGV, Chitrakoot, Satna (M.P.) during 2016-17 and 2017-18. The details of materials used in experimental they have 20 treatments with control, the experiment analysed (Pooled Basis) under Randomized Block Design (RBD), with three replications. The treatment details are T1- Control, T2- FYM 20 t ha-1, T3- Vermicompost 5 t ha-1, T4- Neem cake 2.5 q ha-1 T5- 50 kg N ha-1, T6- 50 kg N ha-1 + FYM 20 t ha-1, T7- 50 kg N ha-1 + Vermicompost 5 t ha-1, T8- 50 kg N ha-1 + Neem cake 2.5 q ha-1, T9- 100 kg N ha-1, T10- 100 kg N ha-1 + FYM 20 t ha-1, T11- 100 kg N ha-1 + Vermicompost 5 t ha-1, T12- 100 kg N ha-1 + Neem cake 2.5 q ha-1, T13- 150 kg N ha-1, T14- 150 kg N ha-1 + FYM 20 t ha-1, T15- 150 kg N ha-1 + Vermicompost 5 t ha-1, T16- 150 kg N ha-1 + Neem cake 2.5 q ha-1, T17- 200 kg N ha-1, T18- 200 kg N ha-1 + FYM 20 t ha-1, T19- 200 kg N ha-1 + Vermicompost 5 t ha-1 and T20- 200 kg N ha-1 + Neem cake 2.5 q ha-1. The observation was recorded under the experiment (growth and yield) of potato such as Number of sprouts plant-1, Leaf area index, Polar diameter of tuber (cm), Equatorial diameter of tuber (cm) and Total tubers yield hectare-1 (q ha-1). The result revealed that the maximum number of sprouts per plant at 30 DAS was observed under the treatment combination N4O2 (200 kg N ha-1 + Vermicompost 5 t ha-1) i.e. (8.51), maximum leaf area index of potato at 30-60 and 60-90 DAS was observed under the treatment combination N4O2 (200 kg N ha-1 + Vermicompost 5 t ha-1) i.e. (136.93 and 268.68), maximum polar and equatorial diameter of tuber was observed under the treatment combination N4O2 (200 kg N ha-1 + Vermicompost 5 t ha-1) i.e. (6.49 and 5.06 cm) and maximum total tuber yield per hectare was observed under the treatment combination N4O2 (200 kg N ha-1 + Vermicompost 5 t ha-1) i.e. (443.60 q/ha), while the minimum value of all the parameters was observed under Control (N0O0).
