Abstract:
The efficacy of insecticides on the cocoon parameters revealed significantly higher values when the silkworms were fed with the leaves harvested abamectin 1.9% EC (@ 0.75ml/l) and diafenthiuron 50% WP (@ 1 g/l) at 15 and 21 DAS. The cocoon weight (2.43, 2.31 and 2.37, 2.27 g/ cocoon at 15 and 21 DAS, respectively), cocoon shell weight (0.56, 0.53 and 0.55, 0.53 g/ cocoon shell at 15 and 21 DAS, respectively) and cocoon shell ratio (23.25, 23.15 and 23.41, 23.66% at 15 and 21 DAS, respectively) were highest respectively in abamectin 1.9% EC and diafenthiuron 50% WP and also longest filament (1312.67, 1233.20 and 1237, 1232.30 m at 15 and 21 DAS, respectively) and highest filament weight (0.47, 0.44 and 0.45, 0.44 g at 15 and 21 DAS, respectively) were recorded in the treatments with foliar spray of abamectin 1.9% EC (@ 0.75ml/l) and diafenthiuron 50% WP (@ 1 g/l) at 15 and 21 DAS.
