Abstract:
The present investigation entitled “Impact of foliar nitrogenous source on growth, yield and economics of okra, conducted at University Research Farm, GHRU, Saikheda in Rabi Season of 2023, are presented and described in this chapter. Data pertaining to various criteria used for treatment evaluation were analyzed statistically to test their significance. The research trial conducted in nine treatments with control, and replicated in three times, the data was anlysed in Randomized Block Design. The research trail was carried on Okra crop cv. Red Okra for observed the growth, yield and economics. The treatment details are T1- Control, T2- 0.5% urea (30 DAS) + 1% urea (45 DAS), T3- 0.75% urea (30 DAS) + 1% urea (45 DAS), T4- 1% urea (30 DAS) + 1% urea (45 DAS), T5- 2% urea (30 DAS) + 1% (45 DAS), T6- 0.5% urea (30 DAS) + 0.5% CaNO3 (45 DAS), T7- 0.5% urea (30 DAS) + 1% CaNO3 (45 DAS), T8- 0.5% urea (30 DAS) + 0.5% KNO3 (45 DAS) and T9- 0.5% urea (30 DAS) + 1% KNO3 (45 DAS). In the research trial observation was taken such as plant height (cm) at 30 and 60 DAS, number of leaves / plant 30 and 60 DAS, number of branches/plant at 60 DAS, days to firs flower initiation, number of fruits / plant, fresh weight of fruit (g), yield /plant (g), gross return and net return. The result revealed that the maximum plant height at 30 DAS was non-significant and plant height at 60 DAS ()63.13 cm, number of leaves/plant at 30 and 60 DAS (6.36 and 16.20), number of branches/plant at 60 (6.73), days to first flower initiation (14.60 Days), number of fruits/plant (14.30), fresh weight of fruit (26.24 g) and yield/plant (374.25g), gross return (Rs. 525780.00) and net return (Rs. 403280.00) was observed under the treatment T7 (0.5% urea (30 DAS) + 1% CaNO3 (45 DAS), while all the parameters of minimum value were obtained under T1 (Control).
