Abstract:
A field experiment was conducted at Main Vegetable Research Station, AAU, Anand during Summer, 2023 to determine the comparative susceptibility/resistance against fruit borer, Helicoverpa armigera in okra. Among the ten genotypes/cultivars screened, none of the genotypes/cultivars was found Highly Resistant (HR) and Highly Susceptible (HS). The genotypes/cultivars AOL 20-03 and Red One Long were categorized as Resistant (R). The genotypes/cultivars AOL 19-08, AOL 20-06, Punjab Suhavani and Anand Komal were found to be Moderately Resistant (MR). While genotypes/cultivars AOL 19-12, AOL 19-09 and Phule Prajatika were categorized as Moderately Susceptible (MS) and the genotype AOL 20-04 was recorded as Susceptible (S). The larval population (larvae per plant) and fruit damage (number & weight basis) exhibited consistent categorization.
