Abstract:
The present investigation was carried out at Central Research Farm (CRF), Department of Entomology, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences. Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh during the rabi season 2023-24. The experiment was laid out in Randomized block design with seven treatments replicated three times along with untreated control plot. Eight treatments, viz. Chorantraniliprole, followed by Spinosad 45% SC, Emamectin Benzoate 5 SG, Indoxcarb, Beauveria bassiana 1.15% WP, Bacillus thuringinesis 1×109, and Neem oil 2%. and control were evaluated against the shoot and fruit borer (Leucinodes orbanalis). It revealed that all the treatments were significantly superior over to control. The result showed that the treatments had the lowest percent of shoots and fruits, and infestation was recorded. Chorantraniliprole (7.32, 8.15), followed by Spinosad 45% SC (11.37, 12.43), Emamectin Benzoate5 SG (12.24, 12.8), Indoxcarb (13.36, 14.26, Beauveria bassiana 1.15% WP (15.66, 16.54), Bacillus thuringinesis 1×109 (14.23, 15.01) and Neem oil 2% (20.66, 20.53). The treatments Neem oil 2% (20.66, 20.53) were the least effective among all the treatments a gainst Leucinodes orbanalis. The crop yield ranged from 210.50 q/ha to 40 q/ha in the treatments, and the BCR ranged from1:9.4 to 1:7.8. The plot treated with Chorantraniliprole 18.5 SC showed the highest yield and BCR (210.50 q/ha, 1:9.4) and was the found to be most effective treatment, next to which Spinosad 45 SC (180 q/ha, 1:9.3) was more effective among all other treatments, followed by Emamectin Benzoate5 SG (155.60, 1:9.2), Indoxcarb (140.70, 1:8.8), Beauveria bassiana 1.15% WP (70.80, 1:8.2), Bacillus thuringinesis (84.80, 1:8.6), Neem oil 2%(58.00, 1:.7.8) as compared to the untreated plot (40.00 q/ha, 1:7.1).
