Abstract:
The field experiment was conducted to study effect of dates of transplanting on tobacco caterpillar, Spodoptera litura (Fabricius) infesting cabbage during Rabi season of 2020-21 and 2021-22 at Central Experiment Station, Wakawali, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli. The result of pooled analysis of both years indicated that the overall mean population of S. litura ranged from 0.64 to 2.89 larvae per plant. The minimum S. litura population (0.64 larvae per plant) was observed in early date of transplanting i.e. (D1) cabbage transplanted 15 days before recommended date of transplanting. The maximum population of S. litura (2.89 larvae per plant) was noticed in late date of transplanting i.e. (D3) cabbage transplanted 15 days after recommended date of transplanting.
