Abstract:
A study was taken to assess the reproductive performance of broiler rabbits supplemented with Siris tree (Albizia lebbeck) leaf meal (STLM) in the diet. For the experiment, a total of 36 female rabbits of two breeds each equally (Californian White and Flemish Giant) were used to study the reproductive performance in the conventional cage system by dividing them in to 3 groups (T1 (0%STLM i.e. control), T2 (10% STLM) and T3 (20% STLM)) each, where experimental rabbits in T2 and T3 groups were fed with concentrate mixture supplemented with Siris tree (Albizia lebbeck) leaf meal at the rate of 10% and 20%, respectively, while T1 group was fed with control concentrate mixture (0% Siris tree leaf meal). All the rabbits were offered lucerne hay. Does were fed with the experimental diet, 2 weeks before the start of mating. The statistical analysis of the data revealed that, there was no significant (p>0.05) effect of diet, breed and diet × breed interaction on the reproduction parameters of two broiler breeds of rabbit fed with varied levels of STLM.
