Abstract:
An experiment was carried out to study effect of Neem leaf powder on proximate composition and organoleptic evaluation of broiler chicken. One hundred and sixty, day-old broiler chicks assigned into four treatment group with four replications having 10 broiler chicks in every replication in a completely randomized design. Treatment details include: T0 (control) without neem leaf powder, treatments T1, T2 and T3 had given basal diet with 5 gm, 10 gm and 15 gm neem leaf powder per kg of feed. The result found that feeding neem leaf powder with diet of broiler had no significant effect on moisture, protein, fat and ash content in breast and thigh muscle. There was no significant difference in organoleptic parameters of broiler chicken. It was suggested that neem leaf powder can use in broiler ration without negative effect on proximate composition and sensory attributes of broiler chicken.
