Abstract:

Nitrogen (N) is a critical macronutrient in rice cultivation, influencing growth, yield, and overall plant health. This study evaluates nitrogen's role in rice productivity under the temperate Himalayan ecosystem using the Diagnosis and Recommendation Integrated System (DRIS). By comparing nitrogen content between high- and low-yielding rice populations, identifying sufficiency ranges, and analysing nitrogen’s relationship with DRIS indices, the study provides insights into optimizing nitrogen management for sustainable rice cultivation.
