Abstract:

The current study Eco-friendly management of major insect pests of paddy under organic cultivation was carried out at the instructional cum research farm at IGKV, Raipur (C. G.) during kharif 2023-24. In the course of research studies under organic paddy cultivation three insect pests of rice viz. rice yellow stem borer (Scirpophaga incertulus), rice leaffolder (Cnaphalocrocis medinalis) and rice butterfly (Melanitis leda) and their natural enemies lady bird beetle and spider were recorded. The incidence of dead heart showed significant positive correlation with minimum temperature (0.487) and non significant relations with other abiotic factors Whereas, incidence of white ear head showed significant negative correlation with minimum temperature (-0.925) and evening relative humidity (-0.798) and significant positive correlation with sunshine hours (0.625) and showed non-significant relations with other prevailing abiotic factors. The incidence of rice leaffolder showed significant negative correlation with evening relative humidity (0.570) and incidence of rice butterfly showed significant positive correlation with morning relative humidity (0.490) and non significant with other weather factors.
