Screening of ber, Ziziphus mauritiana Lamk germplasm against C. vesuviana under semi-arid condition

The study were carried out to evaluate thirty varieties of ber, i.e. Akhrota, Ashapuri-2 Baghwadi, Chandni supari, Chhuhara, Chonchal, Darakhi, Gola, Gutka, Hussain rejo, IIaich, Jogia, Kaithli, Kali, Kathaphal, Kheera, Kishmish, Lakhan, Mehroon Morchia, Nilgiri, Noki, Ponda, Sev, Sukhawani, Tabes taso, Thornless, Tikadi, Umran and ZG-3 were screened in vivo conditions for their resistance to fruit fly for two consecutive years that none of the ber varieties were identified as completely free from the attack of fruit fly. Based on the pool mean of fruit fly percent damage, the varieties Tikadi, Umran and Ilaichi had infested fruits less than 10.00 percent, therefore, categorized as highly resistance; varieties Baghwadi, Hussain rejo, Jogia, Kali, Kathaphal, Kheera, Sukhawani and Tabes taso possessed mean fruit infestation from 11.00-20.00%, therefore, categorized as resistance, varieties Akhrota, Ashapuri-2, Chandni supari, Chhuhara, Chonchal, Darakhi, Gola, Gutka, Kishmish, Lakhan, Mehroon, Morchia, Nilgiri, Noki, Ponda, Sev and Thornless had fruit infestation between 21.00-50.00%, therefore, categorized as moderately resistance; variety Kaithli had fruit infestation above 51.00%, categorized as susceptible.
