Abstract:

The field experiment was conducted to study the effect of nano urea on yield and economics of kharif onion during kharif, 2023 at All India Coordinated Research Project on Vegetable Crops, Department of Horticulture, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with eight treatments and three replications. The treatments comprised of combined use of urea and nano urea along with the absolute control (T1 to T8). The results revealed that the yield parameters viz plant height, number of leaves, neck thickness, average bulb weight, polar and equatorial diameter, total soluble solids, total bulb yield, marketable yield and cost benefit ratio found superior in treatment comprised of 75% N through soil application of urea + two foliar application of nano urea (4 ml L-1) at 30 and 45 DAT. The soil parameters after harvest viz., pH, EC, organic carbon content, available nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium showed non-significant results.
