The present experiment entitled “Effect of Lipid and Secondary metabolite based organic coatings on storability and quality of Custard apple (Annona squamosa L.) cv. Balanagar” was undertaken at Laboratory of Pt. KLS college of horticulture and research station Rajnandgaon, Mahatma Gandhi Udyanikee Evam Vanikee Vishwavidyalaya, Durg during the year 2023-2024 laid out in completely randomized design with 15 treatment replication three times. The investigation consist total 15 treatments i.e. control along with 14 different concentration of organic lipid (10 and 20% of Paraffin, Bee wax and Karanj oil, Coconut oil, Neem oil, and Linseed oil each at 50 and 100%) and secondary metabolite (Gum arabic10 and 20%) respectively two different concentration coating materials were used. After coating fruits were evaluated for different physiological and chemical at room temperature at lab for at every 3 days interval till 9 days of storage period. The findings under the different treatments were significantly influenced in which superiority of paraffin 20% as minimum 16.10% weight loss, 78.19% of highest retention of marketable fruits, lowest 21.80% unmarketable fruit and maximum 78.19% marketable fruits values retain over control was registered .Similarly The finding for chemical parameter were significantly influenced where superiority of paraffin with maximum TSS, pH, ascorbic acid and minimum acidity with 38.55°Brix, 5.3 pH, 30.07 mg/100 gpulp and 0.21% and maximum 27.39, 15.19 and 12.20% of respectively for total sugar, reducing sugar and non-reducing observed. The increasing trend in TSS total sugar and reducing sugar up to 6 day later decreasing pattern with increasing day up to 9 day was registered whereas the pH, ascorbic acid, acidity and non-reducing sugar observed in continuous decreasing trend.
