B. monnieri is a remarkable medicinal plant that provides various promising pharmacological activities beneficial for treating numerous complex illness and disorders. The current study emphases on development of an improvised and dependable protocols with optimum hormone concentration for Somatic Embryogenesis of Bacopa monnieri (L), a valuable medicinal plant. For generating the highest quantity of shoot buds, it seemed that MS Medium supplied with BAP (1.0 mg per litter media) alone as well as in conjunction with 1.0 mg/l of IAA, were ideal. Maximum number of shots (38±0.31) were reported in plantlets regenerated from nodal explant cultured on MS media + BAP (1 mg per litter media). Root development was optimum (root length-2.31±0.07 cm) in nodal explants cultured in MS media with 1 mg/l IAA. Phytochemical screening shows the present of Flavonoids, Alkaloids, Tannins and Saponin. Five random primers were used to perform genetic fertility test through RAPD analysis. The absence of detected polymorphism indicates the genetic integrity of the unique plantlet developed in vitro.
