Abstract:

An investigation was carried out at new nursery, Adhartal, Department of Horticulture, Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur to evaluate the positive effect of foliar sprays of Potassium Nitrate (KNO3) and Gibberellic Acid (GA3) on quality attributes of mango cv. Amrapali” conducted in 2023. The experimental material for the present investigation was comprised of 9 treatments with KNO3 @ 1.0%, 2.0% and GA3 @ 25 ppm, 50 ppm along with their combinations and water spray as control. The impact of various treatments on different quality attributes viz., TSS (0Brix), ascorbic acid (mg/100 g), acidity (%), total sugar (%), reducing sugar and non-reducing sugar was recorded. The data revealed a significant influence, with the maximum TSS (21.81 0Brix), ascorbic acid (52.50 mg/100 g), total sugars (18.63%), reducing sugars (6.99%), non-reducing sugars (10.29%) and the minimum acidity (0.15%) was recorded in treatment T8 (foliar spray of KNO3 @ 2% + GA3 @ 50 ppm) which is at par with T7 (KNO3 @ 1% + GA3 @ 50 ppm). However, the treatment T9 (control) recorded less performance for the similar characteristics except for acidity content.
