Air pollution's detrimental effects on renal health: Key insights

Abstract:

Air pollution is major global health problem that effects many peoples and affect multiple organ system, including kidney. Air pollution results from a complex mixture of harmful particles. There are many long term exposure to pollutants like Particulate matter (PM), ozone (O3), nitrogen oxides, Sulfurdioxide and many volatile organic compounds. These substances contribute oxidative stress, inflammation, and many vascular damage, and increase the risk of kidney disease. This review explore the many components of air pollution and their effects on kidney, and mechanism pollution related kidney diseases. We examine the epidemiological studied, identify high risk population and discuss to reduce the impact of air pollution on kidney health. Air pollution cause kidney diseases risk factors such as hypertension and diabetes. The relationship between these factors is intricate, involving systemic inflammation, oxidative stress, and endothelial dysfunction, all of which can lead to damage in renal tissues. Certain groups, such as the elderly, children, and those with existing health issues, are especially vulnerable. Considering the substantial public health challenges posed by air pollution and kidney diseases, it is crucial to implement policy measures that focus on reducing emissions, enhancing air quality, and supporting kidney health. This review emphasizes the immediate necessity for comprehensive strategies to lessen the effects of environmental influences on kidney health and advocates for further investigation into the fundamental biological mechanisms involved.
