An overview of the effects of seed priming on various crops
Saurabh Yadav, Dharmpal Singh and Devendra Pal Singh
Under stressful circumstances, primed seeds have a high potential for growth. It is highly resilient to disease and insect attacks. Compared to non-primed seeds, primed seeds yield more and have a greater potential for growth. Compared to seeds that were not primed, it demonstrated greater yield and consistency. In order to improve emergence, stand establishment, tillering, and grain and straw yield, an effort has been undertaken to determine the best priming solution. The current study assesses the impact of seed priming on several crops. Numerous studies demonstrate that seed priming increases seedling vigor and germination rate, which ultimately improves agricultural output and establishment.
