Abstract:

The present investigation entitled “Status of rice gall midge, Orseolia oryzae (Wood-Mason) biotypes in different genotypes of rice” was studied all through Kharif 2019-20. in order to dominance of rice gall midge biotypes, a few rice genotypes were examined underneath discipline situations. The end result found out that the incidence of rice gall midge as silver shoot become recorded on forty and 60 days after transplanting, and scoring changed into executed. Out of 21 rice genotypes, genotypes viz., Kavya and W 1263 had been found nil damage to gall midge and scored as noticeably resistant. three genotypes viz., Aganni, INRC 15888 and RP 5923 have been recorded in the resistant class with up to 1% damage score. The check entry TN 1 and S. check were recorded enormously prone with more than 25% harm, whereas remaining four genotypes viz., ARC 6605, Dukong 1, BG 380-2 and B ninety five-1 had been located susceptible with 11-25% incidence to gall midge. based on the response pattern of resistant-resistant-susceptible (R-R-S) the prevalence of gall midge biotype 1 turned into predominantly presented, but it could be possibility of other biotypes at northern hill place of Chhattisgarh. The correlation of rice gall midge infestation at forty DAT found out that extraordinarily massive and effective correlation with prevalence of gall midge at 60 DAT (r=0.887**), however vast and bad correlation confirmed with plant peak (r=-445*), however leaf toughness (r=-0681**) exhibited rather large and terrible correlation to gall midge infestation at 40DAT. The gall midge infestation at 60 DAT exhibit extraordinarily great terrible correlation with plant peak (r=-0.573**) and leaf sturdiness (r=-0.732**), however fine correlation (r=0.505*) exist between plant height and leaf toughness. The correlation between panicle duration and days to 50% adulthood confirmed nice correlation (r=0.450*) with every different, but especially huge and high-quality correlation (r=0.930**) also exist between days to 50% flowering and days to 50% adult hood.
