Abstract:

This Present study was conducted at D.AV (P.G) College, Dehradun, Uttarkhand, India in year 2024. This study explores the potential of sugarcane bagasse, a significant byproduct of the sugar industry, in addressing environmental sustainability challenges and combating microbial threats. By extracting bioactive phytochemicals through cool percolation and traditional shaker methods, the antimicrobial efficacy of the bagasse was evaluated against gut microbiota pathogens, including Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Results showed promising zones of inhibition, indicating the utility of sugarcane bagasse in mitigating antibiotic resistance while promoting waste valorization.
