Performance of different floribunda rose varieties for growth parameters, pest and diseases under northern transitional zone of Karnataka

Abstract:

The field experiment was conducted at Horticulture Research and Extension Center, Kanabargi, Belagavi, during 2019-20 to know the performance of different Floribunda rose varieties for growth parameters, disease and pest incidence under Northern Transitional Zone of Karnataka. The experimental data, revealed that significantly higher plant height (92.00 cm), plant spread in N-S and E-W direction (70.67 cm, 73.00 cm respectively), maximum number of branches (16.67) and leaf area (58.45 cm2) were recorded in variety Arka Savi. Significantly lower incidence of powdery mildew and black spot (26.25% and 26.70% respectively) was observed in variety Mirabel Red. However, low incidence of thrips was observed in varieties Mirabel Red, Mango Yellow, Charishma and Spray Orange (0.87).
