The present study entitled “Effect of plant growth regulator on growth of French bean cv. Arka Komal under Chhattisgarh plain zone” has been carried out during Rabi season in the year 2023-24 under Department of Vegetable Science, Pt. K.L.S. Collage of Horticulture and Research Station, Rajnandgaon (C.G.) under Mahatma Gandhi University of Horticulture and Forestry, Patan, Durg (C.G.). The experiment was conducted with the consisting of eleven treatments of different concentration of PGR viz. GA3 @ 200 and 250 ppm, NAA @ 20 and 30 ppm, CCC @ 300 and 350 ppm, PBZ @ 10 and 20 ppm, MC @ 500 and 1000 ppm, under Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications the growth were studies and analyzed viz. plant height (cm), Number of branch per plant, Number of leaf per plant, Fresh weight of plant (gm), Dry weight of plant (gm), Days to 1st flowering and Days to 50% flowering.
The interpretations were recorded on various growth parameters. Among plant growth regulator GA3 250 ppm gaves significantly better performance at growth parameters like maximum plant height (31.9 cm, 45.2 cm, 55.2 cm) at 30, 45 and 60 DAS, maximum number of branches per plant (8.53, 12.9, 15.8) at 30, 45 and 60 DAS, maximum number of leaf per plant (21.3, 46.7, 55.4) at 30, 45 and 60 DAS, maximum fresh weight of plant (239 gm), maximum dry weight of plant (52.8 gm) were found. Where minimum days to 1st flowering (34.1) and minimum days to 50% flowering (37.6) was recorded in T6 (CCC @ 350 ppm), Hence, treatment T2 (GA3 250 ppm) was considers as best performing treatment for growth of French bean, treatment T6 (CCC 350 ppm) was considers as best performing treatment for early flowering of French bean with foliar application of PGR (GA3, NAA, CCC, PBZ, MC).
