The study investigates and compares the haematological and biochemical alterations in sheep naturally infected with Theileria spp. and Anaplasma spp. in Junagadh region of Gujarat. Blood and serum samples were analysed from ten PCR-confirmed animals infected with each pathogen and ten healthy PCR-negative controls. Statistically significant differences were observed across various haematological and biochemical parameters, indicating distinct patterns of organ dysfunction, immune response, and metabolic disturbances associated with each infection. The results provide important insights into the pathophysiology of Theileria and Anaplasma infections and underscore the necessity for early, accurate diagnosis and targeted therapeutic strategies to minimize economic losses in sheep farming.
