Population fluctuation of thrips (Scirtothrips dorsalis Hood) of chilli in relation to weather elements

Population fluctuation of thrips studies on chilli during kharif 2022-23 and 2023-24, at Student’s Instructional Farm (SIF) of the Department of Agronomy, C. S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur Uttar Pradesh. The thrips population along with weather elements was recorded the incidence of pest started from 3rd to 4th week of august and reached in peak in last week of September. The correlation studies between thrips population and weather elements indicate positive correlation with temperature and relative humidity and negatively correlated with rainfall. So, environmental variable played significant role in distribution and abundance of thrips population on chilli crop.
