Dr. Akanksha Pandey
Cropping pattern refers to the proportion of area under different crops at a particular period of time. From the both categories of respondents were adopted Rice- Fellow- Fellow as major cropping pattern that may be because in study area very few respondents have irrigation facilities so that those respondents who have irrigation only adopted vegetables, wheat and other pulses crops in their cropping system. Beneficiary respondents had more (131.68%) average cropping intensity index compare to non-beneficiary respondents (112.99 percent) that may be because NFSM programme has significant impact on existing cropping pattern. In Kharif season maximum respondents cultivated Rice crop in 43.03 percent of their total cropped area which is followed by the other crops i.e. cultivated Maize, Arhar, Urd, Groundnut, Vegetables, Moong, Sesame respectively. About the Rabi season majority of respondents cultivated mustard crop in their 3.90 percent of total cropped area followed by cultivated wheat, Niger, Buckwheat, Vegetables, Gram, Horsgram, Pea, Linseed, Lathyrus Lentil in area respectively.
