Abstract:
The present experiment was carried out at Horticulture Research Farm, Department of Horticulture, Naini Agricultural Institute, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS), Prayagraj, U.P, India, during the (2023-2024). A one and half year old Seedling and grafted jackfruit plants which is (approx. 65 no. of plants) The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design {FRBD} with 20 treatments and each was replicated thrice. The experiments were constituted on different date planting viz., (18 August and 10 November 2023) with different 10 varieties viz., V1: Ramchandra, V2:Vietnam SE, V3:Mankala red, V4:Harishchandra, V5:Thai new, V6:Rudrakshi red, V7: Nagchandra, V8:Honey jack, V9:Nagadaka and V10: Gumless. Among the varieties, maximum plant height (105.42), number of branches per plant (6.94), number of leaves per plant (71.00), leaf area (71.25cm 2), leaf width (7.57cm), leaf length (13.60cm), survival percentage (100.00), mortality percentage (0.00) and chlorophyll content (SPAD) (65.51) were recorded in Nagchandra. Transplanting of jackfruit during 18th August 2023 days after transplanting recorded significantly higher plant height (107.32), number of branches per plant (5.13), number of leaves per plant (54.21), leaf area (cm) (52.50), leaf width (cm) (5.93), leaf length (cm) (10.80), survival percentage (67.78), mortality percentage (32.22), chlorophyll content (SPAD) (51.82) over other dates of planting. Among the treatment combinations Nagchandra planted on 18th August 2023 emerged as the best combination with regard to vegetative growth and survivival percentage of jackfruit.
