Abstract:
The research explores the effects of nano diammonium phosphate (nano DAP) and different concentrations of NPK on chickpea seed yield, straw yield, and nutrient use efficiency in Vertisols over a two-year period. The findings reveal that the application of 100% of the recommended dose of fertilizer (RDF) significantly boosted both seed yield (15.63-16.33 q ha-1) and straw yield (25.88-26.10 q ha-1), compared to lower NPK doses combined with nano DAP treatments. While nano DAP improved nutrient use efficiency, the conventional 100% RDF consistently achieved higher agronomic efficiencies for nitrogen (35.04-35.76 kg kg-1) and phosphorus (17.52-17.88 kg kg-1). The study highlights the critical role of balanced nutrient application, suggesting that conventional NPK fertilization is more effective than nano fertilizers in maximizing crop performance and nutrient recovery efficiency in chickpea cultivation.
