Abstract:
The Present investigation entitled “Effect of weed management practices on the growth and yield of kharif transplanted rice (Oryza sativa L.) in Vertisols of Chhattisgarh’’ was conducted at Research Cum Instructional Farm, Dau Kalyan Singh College of Agriculture and Research Station, Bhatapara (C.G.) during Kharif season 2023, to evaluate the effect of different weed management practices on plant growth, yield and economics of transplanted rice. The data revealed that Bensulfuron methyl + Pretilachlor (Premix) 60+600 g ha-1 at 0-3 DAT fb Bispyribac Na 25 g ha-1 at 20-25 DAT (T12) recorded highest plant growth viz., plant hight (cm), Number of tillers hill-1, Dry matter accumulation (g hill-1), at 30,60, 90 DAT and at harvest and highest yield attributes viz., Number of panicle hill-1, Number of grains panicle-1, Test weight (g) and highest Grain and straw yield (kg ha-1) (5275) and (7333) with highest Harvest index (41.26%), Net returns (₹ ha-1) (83071) and B:C Ratio (2.93). Which is comparable with Pretilachlor 750 g ha-1 at 0-3 DAT fb Bispyribac Na 25 g ha-1 at 20-25 DAT T10) and Pyrazosulfuron ethyl 20 g ha-1 at 0-3 DAT fb Bispyribac Na 25 g ha-1 at 20-25 DAT (T11).
