Abstract:

This study investigates the moisture sorption isotherms of Bael powder at varying relative humidity (RH) levels (20%, 50%, 75%, and 95%) and temperatures (25 °C, 30 °C, and 35 °C). Equilibrium moisture content (EMC) was determined using the gravimetric static method, and the resulting data were fitted to four isotherm models: Anderson, Guggenheim–Anderson–de Boer (GAB), Oswin, and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET). The accuracy of the models was evaluated using the coefficient of determination (R²) and reduced chi-sqr (χ2). It was found that GAB model fits best describing equilibrium moisture content and water activity (EMC–aw) relationships for Bael powder. The study provides insights into the hygroscopic nature of Bael powder, essential for optimizing its storage conditions and extending its shelf life.
