Abstract:

A field experiment was conducted during the summer season of 2023-24 at the Central Experiment Station, Wakawali, Tal- Dapoli, Dist- Ratnagiri evaluated the effect of plant growth regulators on okra yield and yield parameters under Konkan conditions. Thirteen treatments, including T1- NAA 50 ppm, T2- NAA 100 ppm, T3- NAA 150 ppm, T4- NAA 200 ppm, T5- GA3 50 ppm T6- GA3 100 ppm, T7- GA3 150 ppm, T8 GA3 200 ppm, T9- Seaweed extract 3 ml, T10- Seaweed Extract 4 ml, T11- Seaweed extract 5 ml, T12- Absolute control and T13- Control (Water spray), were tested in a Randomized Block Design with two replications. Among the treatments, GA₃ at 100 ppm (T6) achieved the highest yield per plant (382 g) and per hectare (268.80 q), along with superior fruit length, diameter, and weight. Treatment T6 demonstrated a 42.79% increase in yield per hectare compared to over the absolute control. These results highlight the effectiveness of GA₃ at 100 ppm in enhancing both yield and quality of okra.
