Abstract:

The present investigation “performance of selected induced mutant genotypes of banana var. Grand Naine” was carried out at, Research Farm, Department of Horticulture, VNMKV, Parbhani during the year 2023-2024 with an objective to evaluate the performance of selected induced mutant genotypes on growth, yield and quality attributes of banana var. Grand Naine. Tissue culture plantlets of M1V8 generation of seven selected induced mutant genotypes of Grand Naine with Garnd Naine itself and phule Pride as control were analyzed in Randomized Block Design (RBD). Results revealed that genotype M3 (T1) demonstrated superior performance in terms of growth, bunch size, and overall yield, closely matching that of the standard Grand Naine variety. This mutant also showed improved finger characteristics and quality traits, making it a promising one for commercial cultivation
